Description
The Peninsula Multifaith Coalition invites you to join us on MLK Jr. Day (January 21, 2019) for our 7th Annual Day of Service. The day begins with an all-volunteer breakfast at 8:00 a.m., which includes an inspiring welcome from community faith leaders. Following breakfast, volunteers will break into groups to work together on 20+ projects that benefit our local community. Most projects are family-friendly (children 5+ welcome) and will end by 12:00 p.m.
We are excited to have several new projects this year including two elementary schools, a Magic Yarn craft project, an additional shelter location, and new park restoration site. See individual project descriptions for specifics. After signing up for a project, you will receive further information (including your breakfast location) from your project captain. If needed, community service forms are available.
Please note: Volunteer registration is open to members of the Peninsula Multifaith Coalition and their friends. During the registration, please select the member organization with which you are most closely affiliated. As our goal is to have a mix of volunteers at each project, please only register your immediate family. Volunteers must sign up in advance, as we cannot accept walk-ins on the day of the event.
Volunteers must register by January 13.
Projects fill up quickly, so register early!
Sponsored by the Peninsula Multifaith Coalition, a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization.
The MLK Multifaith Day of Service and other community events are made possible by the generosity of member faith organizations and donors like you, who contribute to cover the cost of supplies such as craft materials, soup mix ingredients, plants for school gardens, and lunch for shelter residents.
If you would like to donate, please click here. We also have several sponsorship opportunities available. For more information, click here. Thanks for your support!
